for a beta game, this is good, but it def needs a lot of work. i think this is a great system so far though. just def add some sounds and collision detection, like in the shop where you can walk over everything, including the walls! i know its just a test so far though. keep it up! looks great! yay for happy reviews!

i liked the idea of just adding to the same level with different enemies, but it would still be nice to have a couple different level designs. also, a couple of the enemies, such as the flying koopa that follows you around on the last level didnt kill me when it hit me. also the fireballs that fell didnt kill me. only the ghost were able to kill me, unless its supposed to be like that?

This is a solid first game, better than most ive seen. The only problem i had with it was that it started a little slow. Maybe speed up the fire. Also, it would be nice if there was a beginning animation to give a little back story on WHY the fire was falling?

This tutorial really helped me. I was basically just too lazy to ever try to learn actionscript, and after this tutorial I gave it a shot and within about three hours I had completed my first game. Obviously it sucks, but hey, at least it works. Just sayin thanks!
